We've just come across a fantastic video on YouTube called Deadline- post-it stop motion! It really is amazing what people can do! We'd love to see what else you can do with your office stationery! Brother MFC-7860DW Mono Laser Printer

The Brother MFC multifunction printer series are filled with functions and facilities to help make your office run smoothly.
The MFC-7860DW can print black and white at a speed of up to 24 pages per minute at a resolution of 2400 x 600dpi. It has a 32Mb internal memory and a high speed USB connection allowing you to print directly from a memory stick. A 250 sheet paper capacity means that you don't have to fill up the paper cassette as often and larger print jobs can be produced without interuption. A fax machine is standard with a 33,600bbs modem to make sending a fax as fast as possible therefore keeping the line free for incoming faxes. The Brother MFC-7860DW is also wired and wireless network ready so you could do away with some of the cables around the Office.

Staedtler's amazing digital pen- no more copying notes onto your computer!

We've been excited about the Staedtler Digital Pen since we heard we were getting it in stock last year. It is a fantastic concept a will make a lot of people who are working and studying's life a lot easier! Staedtler themselves call it a 'breakthrough in electronic writing'.

The basic idea of the pen is that it records what you are writing onto your notepad, perfect if you are in a meeting of in a lecture. Not only does it keep your notes stored, it can also convert them into a word document at the touch of a button!

It works my simply attaching the digital receiver to the top of your notepad... and that's it, just start writing and the receiver will store up to 100 pages of notes for you!

It can be useful if you spend a lot of time drawing diagrams as well, as it will save them in their original format making it easy for you to pop them onto the computer.

Keep the germs away with a new air purifier

In the last week or so it seems the germs are well and truly spreading around as the temperature gets colder, with lots of airborne illnesses spreading. The last thing you want is for half of your work force to be off work with a cold or stomach upset, especially when it can be so easily prevented.

This afternoon we got an order from a local Asda store for a Lockable steel 2 drawer Pierre Henry filing cabinet. They ordered and within 2 hours we had it delivered to them! A very happy customer!

Where's Ozzy has finished this week, he was at Etrop Grange. Only a handful of people got it right this week, it was definitely a tricky one! So we've all had Christmas and New Year, and are back into the swing of things in the first full week back at work! We hope you all enjoyed the break and celebrated in style, we all did (well maybe not in style...)

New in at Octopus are these fantastic Pilot Begree B2B Retractable Ball Pens!

These pens are made from recycled water bottles, and even look like water bottles, from the barrel to the click top looking like a water bottle lid! 97% recycled post consumer waste of which 94% is PET (plastic that does not leave a residue) The pen has a Tungsten Carbide tip for precise, blob-free writing. It is also refillable and it's 0.8mm tip fives a line width of 0.3mm. Available in red, black and blue

If you like the idea of this green pen, there is also the Gel Ink Rollerball version, The Retractabke Pilot Bottle 2 Pen gel ink rollerball. The pen writes very smooth and skip free, and is also made from recycled water bottles. This pen has a slightly different design, and really looks like a mini water bottle! Cold as Ice!

I'm sure you've notice, but it's absolutely freezing outside! This morning it was extremely icy around the area! You may not know, but we stock Ungraded De-icing salt. A great investment at this time of year.

It Contains a high percentage of insoluble materials, so after de-icing it leaves a gritty residue which provides an extra grip to the surface. This versatile and highly effective de-icer can be used for walkways, footpaths and car parks alike. The rock salt decreases the risk factor of snowy and icy winter weather conditions to both pedestrians and motorists.

New in at Octopus is a brilliant computer mouse / calculator / numeric keypad made by Canon. The Canon Xmark-1 is particularly handy if you are using a laptop which doesn't have a numeric keypad, as it has a feature allowing you to switch between using the calculator and the numeric keypad.

Are you using the right envelopes? It's not something we really think about, we just order the same envelopes time again, because they do the job. But an envelope can often be the first impression of your business. If you're sending out mailers, or are making the first point of contact with a customer, you want to be making the best impression possible. I'm sure we've all been surprised to receive a brightly coloured or unusual envelope from a company, and it generally makes you more intrigued to find out more.

There are many different factors to take into consideration:

Size

September is officially Computer Cleaning Month. Durable have been running the campaign for the last 6 years, for one week at a time, but this year, they've decided to make it a month long! Summer is nearly over (although did it ever really begin?) and the kids will be heading back to school in the next few weeks.
