Are you using the right envelopes? It's not something we really think about, we just order the same envelopes time again, because they do the job. But an envelope can often be the first impression of your business. If you're sending out mailers, or are making the first point of contact with a customer, you want to be making the best impression possible. I'm sure we've all been surprised to receive a brightly coloured or unusual envelope from a company, and it generally makes you more intrigued to find out more.
There are many different factors to take into consideration:
Size
Envelopes come in all different shapes and sizes, the most popular being DL, C6, C5, C4, and C3. Have a look at our website to find out more about different sizes and what each letter and number stands for:
You will need to consider whether you want to fold your mailer, what size you intend it to be, and postage costs.
Quality
This can be what material your envelopes are going to be, as well as the thickness and weight of them. Choosing the right quality envelopes will help your business deliver the best first impression.
Colour
Generally we choose from Manilla or White, depending what it is we are sending. There are also loads of other colours you can choose from! Perhaps your business has brand colours, and it would create more of an impact using those colours.
Window or Non-Window
Are you using letter headed paper, or do you want to design some labels to put on your envelopes?
Seal
If you have a lot of post to send out, then you probably don't want to be using gummed envelopes! So maybe self seal or peel and seal is your best option.
Next time you order envelopes, it's worth having a think about what kind of impression you're wanting to make with the mail you are sending out.
